Given that the most popular streaming media formats rely on proprietary file formats controlled by behemoths like Real and Microsoft, it should come as no surprise that support for streaming media under Linux is minimal. We recommend that Linux users use an MP3 player to listen to audio streams broadcast from StreamingCulture® and RealPlayer to view video streams.
